How do I check what type of Hard Drive I have?
On a Windows computer, you can quickly check whether your system is using an HDD or SSD through Task Manager. To do this, right-click on the taskbar and select Task Manager (or press Ctrl + Shift + Esc). In Task Manager, click on the Performance tab, then choose Disk from the left-hand menu. Here, you’ll see details about your storage device, and under the drive name it will specify the type, such as “SSD” or “HDD.” This is a simple way to confirm your hard drive type without needing to install additional software.
Sometimes Task Manager will not show the Hard Drive Type (HDD or SSD) in this case try updating your Windows Operating System by pressing the windows key on your keyboard and type in Update and press enter. Then check for updates and run them. I have seen this several times and pushing the updates for some reason forces task manager to show this information. I see this with the GPU info in Task Manager as well.
Power Consumption:
SSD’s use less power than traditional HDDs which can be great when using them with Raspberry Pies or other situations where low power consumption is wanted/needed.
