DVI 24+5 VS 24+1
For a DVI to HDMI adapter, DVI 24+1 is usually the better match. While both DVI-D and HDMI use digital video. The 24+1 option is compatible with both 24+5 & 24+1 ports. The 24+5 connector is only compatible with 24+5 ports and do not work with 24+1 ports.
A DVI 24+5 connector can also work with HDMI if the adapter uses the digital pins, but its extra analog pins are not used for HDMI.
